quickbooks I am not an accountant by any means. Supported don't recall how I max across Managerbut over the last few months I have found it to absolutely meet my 2010. It is a multi-prong product: free desktop version for sstill user but as many businesses supported you want to set up ; subscription cloud version; for server version.
Stikl buy the server version once, run it internally or access from internet. The last two have multi-user access, including your accountant, if quickooks wish. Again, not an accountant os, but it seems quite robust mac me.
The for are shill active with mac version updates as they further refine the software. There is a busy supporred, still the developers are quick to respond to queries there.
But Still haven't quicibooks to ask quickbooks questions of the forum. The guides are quite thorough, and I've been able to figure my way through things as I've gone along. They have Mac, Windows and Linux versions. Not affiliated, just happy to have something that has a reasonably shallow learning curve that meets my simple needs.
From what I see, it will handle more complex business needs as well. FWIW, their slow move to adopt server side solutions is part of what has made Intuit's "monopoly" less dominant than it once was. Mint emerged, for example, after years of no viable competition.
Sadly, the government let Inuit buy Mint. I would have hoped that anti-monopoly regulations would have kicked in. The reality is that you already do that--your bank--and they have exposed your information online for years now, with all of the potential security risks.
You may feel that you can trust your bank "more", because they have better security, are more regulated, are larger None of those things are absolutely true - banks have been hacked, ATM machines have been skimmed, money has disappeared from people's accounts for unexplained reasons. The reality is that the level of security you get has more to do with how seriously the provider takes it than anything else.
Intuit, Wave, Mint and their ilk take it seriously and can provide you with possibly better security than your bank can if you know how slowly banks change Be a luddite! Near the end ofthere were two or three times I was forced to hold on a long phone call to AccountEdge in order to get temporary access to past financial data on our own computers. The Windows version is going to have a much longer life than the Mac version. To their credit, Quickbooks supported Windows XP for a very long time, for this reason. If Intuit were to announce tomorrow that QB would be the last Windows version, they would have some gains to their online offering, but they would lose much of their user base to other Windows accounting packages. These sorts of subscription services are extremely desirable from a cash flow point of view but usually only end up doing one thing: harming the business. There are advantages to the cloud approach. I'm an AccountEdge user, not booster really. Our experience is totally different, though. Although, like everyone, they have cloud options, we don't keep anything in the cloud.
All data is local. I like that model of annual subscription, local data, software license owned, and use it for a couple other important software packages. Companies using that model seem to have a reliable revenue stream that helps them be viable and provide a rational path for further product development.
The subscriptions also provides priority customer service when needed. On the rare occasion I've had to contact customer service, they were polite, knowledgeable and solved our problem. I think the user's experience was very out of the ordinary, though obviously awful.
